The art shows, located in Mammoth Lakes, are very popular and catch the attention of thousands of tourists and locals to visit the fair and partake in all of the festivities. The Mono Council for the Arts is a non-profit organization dedicated to art appreciation. The aim of this council is to promote awareness through a variety of activities involving education, fundraisers and arts festivals.

Vendors, members of the Mono Council for the Arts and participants all strive to connect all cultures in the county through these events and also to help boost tourism within the region.

Vendors strive to promote their appreciation of the arts through education and talent within Mono County, which consists of Mammoth Lakes and other areas near the Eastern Sierra.

Two of the more popular festivals are the Mammoth Celebrates the Arts Festival and Labor Day Festival of the Arts.

Mammoth Celebrates the Arts Festival

Mammoth Celebrates the Arts Festival is a four day event around the Fourth of July, and is one that showcases the talent of new artists each year. You can see the artists showcasing hand crafted jewelry, log furniture, hand-made clothing, photography, ceramic fountains, pottery, antler art, metal work for the home and garden, paintings and watercolors, homemade bath products, and stained glass.

Mammoth - ButterflyWhile you are here, make sure to get an extraordinary balloon animal made by the neighboring clowns or have your children get their face painted or enjoy a glass of wine or beer from Mammoth’s own Brewing Company. This free event is fun for the whole family.

Labor Day Festival of the Arts

Labor Day Festival of the Arts is usually a three day event that showcases over 100 artists traveling to Mammoth from all over the west. Come for the day or the weekend and enjoy the incredible artwork and listen to amazing live music in this spectacular forest setting.

Some places to visit are a cocktail lounge, beer garden, all of the great restaurants, hundreds of booths and there are even art activities for the kids. This free festival is one of Mammoth’s best and it should not to be missed.

The Mono Council for the Arts is a great organization that trying to show their gratitude for various types of artwork and they have contributed a lot of time and hard work to make the events mentioned above and a few more happen throughout the year.
